Last October, I bought a Samsung S3 Galaxy Mini phone from my local AT&T store and paid full price for it with the express purpose of being able to get the phone unlocked and cancel the account before leaving the US in June. With AT&T, you can request to have your device unlocked on their website. Actually, that seems to be the only way to do it. So, in May, I used their site and was told that my device was not eligible to be unlocked.
After much going back and forth with multiple AT&T reps, it was obvious that those jokers were not going to get my phone unlocked. At this point, it was only a few days before our departure.
I looked for ways to hack the phone and unlock it. I looked for apps that would unlock it. Nothing I found worked. Then I came across a website that offered to do it for a fee of $39.99. I was skeptical, but gave it a shot.
Less than 24 hours later, I received an unlock code that worked!
If AT&T is giving you the runaround too, then I suggest that you check out the site that I used – attphoneunlockingshop.us
It was a super simple process and not at all a scam like I feared. In an ideal world, I would’ve been able to have gotten it unlocked for free with AT&T, but that didn’t happen and these guys came through for me when AT&T couldn’t.
On a side note, it is supposed to take AT&T around 3 to 5 business days to do the unlock, yet this site did mine in less than 24 hours.
